In an effort to combat the oral health care crisis, children’s dentists have been expanding into underserved areas. Over ¼ of children ages 2-5 and ½ of those ages 12-15 haven’t received the oral health care they need. More dentists are accepting Medicaid to cover the cost of dental work than ever before.
Kool Smiles is a children’s dentistry with more than 120 locations across the United States. We accept Medicaid at all of our offices and are always accepting new patients. Contact us today at (855) 854-3621 to make an appointment for your children!
Every child enrolled in Medicaid is covered by Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnostic and Treatment (EPSDT) benefits. These benefits provide children with the basic oral health care treatment and care, including:
Under these benefits, any child that has a dental medical emergency — like a serious infection or damaged tooth — is fully covered by their state’s Medicaid program.
Medicaid also covers routine exams or check-ups by a general dentist, and everything from cleanings to X-rays, fillings and crowns.
When Does My Child Need to See the Dentist?
It is recommended that children should begin seeing a dentist by their first birthday. Dentists can check the health of a child’s baby teeth and help kids develop proper tooth and gum care habits. Having a good dental care routine at home can help prevent tooth decay and gum disease.
Kool Smiles provides quality dental care and treatment for children at over 120 locations in 15 states. We believe that all kids should have access to quality dental care, so many of our offices even offer specialty services such as orthodontics, pediatric dentistry and wisdom teeth removal. Kids love our fun offices and friendly staff.
At Kool Smiles, we always keep our services affordable and accept most major insurance plans, Medicaid, SCHIP, and Tricare. Call (855) 854-3621 or visit our website today to schedule an appointment for your child.
