Many parents have questions about the extent of their Medicaid benefits, and how they can use them to pay for their child’s dental service needs. The truth is, Medicaid benefits vary from state to state, but generally, there are a few minimums that the state must cover. The overarching qualifier for Medicaid is simple: if a procedure of treatment is medically necessary, it will likely be covered by your benefits.
What qualifies as medically necessary differs case-by-case, so you’ll want to have a consultation to be sure your Medicaid benefits will cover your child’s expenses. Still, there are some services that you can expect to be covered, including:
If you bring your child to our District Heights dentistry for a screening, and the dentist finds a condition that requires treatment, you will likely be covered through your Medicaid benefits, as this would be deemed medically necessary. For other procedures, a member of our helpful staff can talk you through different options and discuss other payment plans if Medicaid fails to cover it.
