If you’re looking for a dentist that accepts Medicaid or TRICARE, bring your child in to your local Kool Smiles.
If you receive Medicaid and have questions about your child’s dental care options, this short list of frequently asked questions can help.
I’ve been turned away at other dental offices because of their Medicaid limit. Does Kool Smiles limit the number of Medicaid patients they see?
No. Unlike some other practices, Kool Smiles never limits the number of Medicaid patients we will see, so your child will not be turned away for treatment, no matter how many other Medicaid patients we treated that day.
If I am seeking dental care for my child, do I need to find a pediatric dentist?
No. Every dentist at Kool Smiles is comfortable working with children and our offices are designed with children in mind. In fact, most of our offices have play areas that children can enjoy while they wait.
How often should my child see a dentist? Will Medicaid cover those visits?
It is recommended that children see a dentist every six months, beginning at one year old. In most cases, State Medicaid programs are required to cover these routine checkups until your child turns 18 years old.
What should I do to get ready for my child’s first dentist appointment?
Talking to your child about the dentist can help them relax once they are in the dentist’s chair. Follow these tips for an easy first visit:
Does Kool Smiles offer orthodontics (braces)? Will Medicaid cover the costs?
Many of our locations do offer braces. Find out if your neighborhood Kool Smiles is one that does. Medicaid coverage for braces and other orthodontic services can vary by state, so it is best to contact your local Kool Smiles and speak with a representative.
