BROOKLYN PARK, MD., Nov 19, 2012
Kool Smiles General Dentistry is opening a new location in Anne Arundel County to provide local families access to first-rate dental care. Kool Smiles is a nationally-known leading dental health provider for children and adults with ten offices throughout Maryland. In addition to welcoming TRICARE insurance from military families, Kool Smiles accepts Medicaid and a wide range of other insurance plans that many private practices do not.
“I thank Kool Smiles, as part of the Maryland Healthy Smiles Dental Program, for its role in making Maryland a leader in addressing children’s dental health needs,” said U.S. Congressman C.A. Dutch Ruppersberger (D-MD). “Dental care is healthcare, and the opening of a Kool Smiles in Brooklyn Park is one more step toward our goal of quality, affordable healthcare for everyone.”
Maryland received “A” grades in the two most recent Pew Center for the States reports on children’s dental health, and has been lauded as a national leader in addressing children’s dental health needs.
“We are excited to celebrate our arrival in Brooklyn Park and the ability to provide the best in dental care for Anne Arundel County,” said Priya Grewal, DDS, Regional Dental Director for Kool Smiles and member of the Maryland Dental Action Coalition. “We are proud to be a part of Maryland’s recent success in improving the oral health of its citizens and are grateful for the opportunity to expand access for the military families in Ft. Meade.”
Located on Richie Highway in Brooklyn Park, Kool Smiles is partnering with the Northern Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce (NAACCC) for a Grand Opening Celebration and Ribbon Cutting on October 29, 2012, at 3:30 p.m. The event will feature tours of the facility and light refreshments for the public. Members of the NAACCC have lauded Kool Smiles as a welcome new partner in growing the regional economy and improving the quality of life in Anne Arundel County.
The opening of the Brooklyn Park office coincides with the conclusion of October’s National Dental Hygiene Month, an observance designated to emphasize oral disease prevention. As part of their services to the community, the Kool Smiles team is promoting early education about proper dental hygiene. Lack of dental care in childhood can eventually lead to heart disease, stroke and diabetes.
“Tooth decay affects more children in the United States than any other chronic infectious disease, even though it is one of the most preventable conditions,” noted Dr. Grewal. “We are excited to partner with local schools and organizations to promote the importance of oral health education.”
The Brooklyn Park office is located at 5700 Ritchie Highway in Brooklyn Park. To book an appointment, please call (410) 609-3004. For further information about Kool Smiles, please visit http://www.mykoolsmiles.com/.
